Feb 2010 Parcel

Courtesy of some Christmas funds given to me by my father, and with belated Christmas cheer reverberating throughout my wallet, I went on a spending spree this week. And then yesterday a parcel arrived.

In the photo above are the following mechanical/drafting pencils and a Zebra box some of them were packed into;

1 x Pentel Graphgear 1000 Mechanical Pencil for Drafting - 0.5 mm
1 x Pilot Birdy Switch Multi Pen + 0.5 mm Pencil
1 x Platinum Pro-Use II 05 Mechanical Pencil for Drafting - 0.5 mm
1 x Pentel Smash Mechanical Pencil for Drafting - 0.5 mm
1 x Pentel Graph 1000 Mechanical Pencil for Drafting Limited Edition II - 0.5 mm - Metallic Silver Body
1 x Uni-ball Kuru Toga High Grade Auto Lead Rotation Mechanical Pencil - 0.5 mm - Black Body
1 x Ohto Super Promecha 1500P Mechanical Pencil for Drafting - 0.7 mm

The Kura Toga came in its own package while the Smash and Pentel Graph had individual slips. The Super Promecha had its own half case with the head of the pencil exposed.  The Pilot Birdy, Platinum Pro Use II and Pentel Graphgear had no cases.

I find this approach to packing pencils odd because putting metal pencils in with one another is going to mean scratches.  This is exactly what happened to my Platinum Pro-Use, arguably the best mechanical pencil in the parcel.

I am terrible at taking photos but there is a slight scratch above the 'o' in Pro-Use.  Perhaps I should order my pencils individually from now on rather than splurging like I did.  Perhaps I should get over myself because no doubt it will get scratched with use soon enough.

Regardless I am a happy man.  My collection of mechanical pencils is looking less 'noob' like by the day.
