Pencil Case Heaven
Last Updated on Thursday, 04 March 2010 18:34 Written by Atticus Thursday, 04 March 2010 18:18
This week a bunch of pencil cases arrived in the mail from Jetpens. That's right, I ordered more than one pencil case. I love pencil cases. Anyway, my plan is to use a different pencil case at work each week and then review it.
The nature of my work requires that I not only constantly access my pencil case but also unpack and pack up the items in my pencil case repeatedly. I also have to pull my pencil case in and out of my bag all day long. I believe this sort of use will quickly alert me to the varied features of each pencil case and the inherent advantages and disadvantages each pencil case has.
By the end of the process I should know exactly what it is I need in a pencil case as opposed to the features I think I want. The two I believe are distinctly different. Of course, I hope you enjoy the reviews as well.
The first pencil case I will be using is the Kutsuwa Edwin Denim zip box style pencil case. You can see pictures of this case at Jetpens here. Check back here in a couple of days for the write up.

A while back I purchased an aluminum Faber-Castell Perfect Pencil pack. There are some unkind reviews about this particular model online but I always liked the aluminum, metallic look. I used this non stop for about three months. Then I lost the cap.

Here is the Perfect Pencil on Ebay for those looking - Ebay. I paid a fair amount of money for this pencil cap and I wasn't happy when it went missing. This week, fed up with its uselessness, I dragged it out of the bottom drawer. I scoured the internet looking for a replacement cap but I have been been unable to find one. The sharpener replacements that screw into the cap are easy enough to locate but the cap itself is a different matter altogether. Please note that I am talking about the end of the pencil extender, the cap sits just above the clip.
I emailed Cultpens and they couldn't help me. Faber-Castell haven't replied to my email.
Can anyone help me? Do I really need to buy a whole new package?

Last year my better half and I went to Europe. It was the trip of a life time and included a brief stay in Calgary Canada on the way to London. From there we went on a jaunt through Croatia, Slovenia and Germany before a two day stay in Dubai on the way home. The experience was surreal and featured a few purchases you may be interested in.
The two main purchases were a couple of Lamy pencils. I bought them along Oxford Street London in Debenhams at The Pen Shop.
