Slider Box Pencil Case

This pencil case review will be focusing on a hand-me-down pencil case. My father gave me this pencil case when I was still at school. So I have had it quite a few years now. He made the pencil case himself in wood arts class when he was in school himself. Obviously this slider box pencil case is a sentimental favourite of mine.
Despite the years of wear, and my sentimentality, this pencil case is still one of the better pencil cases I own. Its stature in that regard will be threatened in the next week or so when I get a shipment of pencil cases from Jetpens but until then it is as safe as houses.
I suspect (and hope) however that it will remain one of my favourites simply because they just don't make pencil cases like this anymore. Prove me wrong somebody. I would gladly consider buying something similar in style to this pencil case but I haven't found any for sale.

One aspect of 'The Leaky Pen' website that I have struggled to come to terms with is the photography involved. Whether it is photographing my pencils, their pencil cases or other stationery paraphernalia I am never really sure what it is I am doing with the camera.
In particular I have struggled with the close up shots and the shadows created by my light sources (when I have considered my light sources). Those two issues are by no means my only problems. You only have to look at the photographs I have uploaded to see that improvement is needed.
I was going to ask a cousin of mine for her advice. She has her own photography business and would certainly have some ideas and tips on the subject. However, on a whim, I googled the topic of pen photography. I was instantly rewarded. It appears others have, unsurprisingly, trod this path before me.
Here are some valuable resources on pen photography any bumbling technophobe writing utensil fanatic could learn from;
